Hello

I try to have as many skills and as much knowledge as I can in my personal “tool box,” but I don't believe in doing things exactly the same way for every woman. I try to walk into every situation with an open heart and open mind, to ensure that I am treating every woman as an individual.

    My Story

I was born and raised in Idaho where I currently live with my very supportive husband and seven beautiful children. My experience with midwifery began after birthing my first four children via caesarean section (the first birth being twins). During my fourth pregnancy, I decided that there had to be a better way and fought long and hard for a VBAC, only to have it end with another caesarean. This is when my calling to midwifery began. Before my fifth pregnancy, I started attending births as a midwife’s assistant and decided that I needed to learn as much as I could about midwifery and gain some sort of formal education. During my fifth pregnancy, I decided to try for a VBAC again with a midwife in Utah and, to my great surprise, was able to have a successful vaginal delivery and the birth of my dreams. I’m passionate about empowering women throughout their childbearing years and I believe that women are wise in deciding what is best for them and their baby.

I graduated from the Midwives College of Utah, a MEAC accredited school, with an Associate of Science degree in Midwifery and also gained my national license in March 2018. I became a licensed midwife in Idaho in April 2018. I’m currently certified in Neonatal Resuscitation and CPR for Health Care Providers, which I maintain by attending classes every two years. During the course of my clinical placement, I attended a minimum of 10 births in the observe phase, 24 births in the assistant phase, and 39 births in the primary phase.
